8th Symposium on Green and Smart Technologies
"From Nanoscience to megastructures"

8-9 September 2025 | Zaragoza, Spain
The 8th Symposim on Green and Smart Technologies continues a series of conferences that started with the collaboration between Universidade Nova de Lisboa, University of Yamaguchi and Universidad of Zaragoza, in 2013, when the first Symposium was held in Zaragoza, Spain at 26th November 2013 on “Membranes and Sustainable Technologies” and in Lisbon, Portugal at 29th November 2013 on “Management & Maintenance of Bridges”, respectively. The 2nd Symposium which was held in Ube, Yamaguchi at November 2014, focused in combined both topics of previous one, that is “infrastructure management” and “functional materials” as the main topics. The same topics were the focus of the 3rd conference, held in Lisbon in 2016. The 4th conference, held in Zaragoza at September 2017, had the logo ““Engineering at the service of the Society: from nanotechnology to megastructures”, which has been the basis for the subtitle of this conference. In successive editions Universidad de Cantabria and Universidad Jaime I (Castellón) were also involved, with the organization of them being carried by Yamaguchi in 2019, Cantabria in December 2021 (on-line) and Lisboa in March 2024.
This conference will expand the topics that will be covered respect to the previous ones, showing the great variety of problems where science and engineering can make a contribution to a better society.
The organizers hope that all the participants will enjoy the stage at Zaragoza and that this conference will improve even more the links between the participating institutions, in our aim of making better science for a better world.
On behalf of the organizing committee,
Miguel Menendez
